In a surprise announcement earlier this month at the Video Game Awards, SEGA unveiled that it will be reviving some of its past iconic games. Jet Set Radio, Crazy Taxi, Shinobi, Golden Axe, and Streets of Rage are all set to be remade/rebooted for the new generation of consoles. Whether they will be remakes or continuing sequels remains to be seen, as very little is still known about these projects. Since this teaser announcement was released, it has been hinted that these five games will not be the only ones Sega plans on reviving and that there will be plans to bring back other franchises. I, for one, am certainly excited to see some of these franchises get a reboot to hopefully gain more popularity.
Anyone else excited to see some of these games make a return? Are there any other Sega classics hidden in the vault that you hope will get the same treatment? A sequel or remake of Skies of Arcadia is number one on my wish list.
