Roam Like Home - Receiving 2FA sms text chargeable in Europe ?

loumar_
I've been here awhile

We are planning a trip in September to Scandinavia, and although I have 5 roam like home days, our trip is 10 days long.

My plan is to purchase a local sim that is accepted in (Norway, Finland, and Denmark)

Can anyone confirm that incoming texts to my Canadian phone number will be charged a roam like home daily fee of $15 ? Or are incoming texts always free ? My concern is I may need my phone to received a 2FA msg from my Canadian bank

As well would it be better to take the sim out of my phone (Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra) and move it to a dumb phone (no data)

Louis

@loumar_ : Check out the following recent similar thread:

It's not the text that triggers Roam Like Home, it's as soon as your phone with a Rogers SIM inserted connects to a foreign cell tower because phones are typically doing all kinds of other things in the background, as discussed in the following link (which was included as part of the link above):

(I understand that you have 5 "free" days, but, based on your comments,  the only way to avoid charges on the other days would be to remove the SIM - based on Eastern Time in Canada.
