Hello. Just subscribed to the 5g home internet. I am remote and currently have the Ignite 50 wireless home internet. The switch seemed like a no brainer however now I read the fine print and they cap the streaming at 3Mps.(720p). This is going backwards! 1080 is minimum for home streaming.

You can probably get around this by using a VPN service.

Can confirm this is no longer an option, Rogers seems to be throttling VPN connections using the WireGuard and OpenVPN protocol as of this morning. This workaround had been working since I subscribed to the service.
Here are some of my findings. I tested this on multiple VPN clients and personal VPN servers of mine.
Test 1 - Personal VPN to a VPS using WireGuard

Test 2 - Another Personal VPN to to a VPS in Toronto

Test 3 - Using PIA Wireguard, tried various servers, here's one test.

Test 4 - Using PIA OpenVPN on port 443 using TCP

Seems as though they're only throttling download speeds. Let me know if anyone else can replicate these results.

I just got off the phone and they said the throttled speed is 10 Mbps
